Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican American broadcaster. She hosts SportsNation as well as a SportsCenter anchor. She joined ESPN in the year 2016. The child of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been for a long time, starting at her age of nine. This skill allowed her to land her first position at Univision, Miami. She could work as a producer for national programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then, in St. Petersburg, she was later hired by the CBS station as the sports reporter. In 2009 she moved to Rio Grande Valley, Texas for work as an anchor for the newscast of The Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. In reporting on news stories about drug trafficking and immigration from both sides of the Mexico-Texas Border, she served as a news reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5pm, then as a reporter for news in English at 9 pm and after which she became a news anchor until 10 pm, and then returned back to KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel. She also filled in for anchors of sports and weather forecasters. Then she became the anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. In the following years, she was given larger responsibilities. She covered all of the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra as anchor. She was promoted to sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She also played the role on Primer Impacto on UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. They eventually settled in Mexico City and she was born there on the 22nd of November the 22nd of November, 1985. There is an older sister. She has an older sister. She divorced her parents soon after and, in the year 1995, she got married to an naval designer by the name of Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. On a trip Antonietta spent the time at her sister's house in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sister had just landed an offer to work. Antonietta was an incoming senior in high school however, she had a very clear vision of what she wanted to do in her future career. She went to Mount Union University to determine if they suited her. She loved the campus. It also gave her the program she was interested in. After completing her high school education she was accepted into the University to pursue media studies. Her relationship lasted for a while with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the manager of WRMU 91.1 FM, a station of which she was an affiliate. Mark's passion for journalism and confidence in her own abilities encouraged her. She, in turn attempted to live up to his standards and not fail him.
